oh, man, ouch...being FORCED to pick, it'd have to be the Priest, but it pains me to nudge off the Scorps

Definitely a tough to choose. Priest in the 70s was untouchable. But the Scorpions 70s era was pretty phenomenal. Uli Roth was a god. Priest lost me in the 80s and I liked all Scorpions releases up to and including Savage Amusement.

Difficult.

Scorpions.

Scorpions by a hair for me. Tough one though!

It's tight, but I'm gonna go with Priest, because they never had an album cover that should have landed them in prison.

Priest' last four albums have brought their stock down while the Scorpions last three have been strong. The bottom line is whose dics I reach for more often and that would be Priest so I'll go with them.

At one time this would have been a really, really hard choice.

As it is, Scorpions over-reliance on crappy, sappy ballads over the last decade or so puts Priest firmly ahead of the game.

But Magpie, even with Rob Halford back, the last two Priest albums have been dismal, even more so that the sappiest of ballads. Nostradamus is possibly the worst album of its decade. I picked Priest too, but I just thought your reasoning ignored some very bad Priest material.
